- Women's Events at APA Annual Meeting See the list of
dates, times and locations for events for women at the May 2000
APA Chicago Annual Meeting.
- The Committee on Women celebrates its
25th anniversary this year! This link provides information on the
Committee's charge and list of 1999-2000 Committee members.
- The Alexandra Symonds Award is
presented annually to a woman psychiatrist to acknowledge her outstanding
contributions and leadership in promoting women's health and the
advancement of women. The deadline for the 2001 award is August 25, 2000.
- The APA Women's Caucus
is one of seven APA Minority Caucuses. The Women's Caucus meets at
the annual meeting with
Association of Women Psychiatrists (AWP).
Through the Caucus, women can advocate on issues of interest to women
psychiatrists and network with other women members.
The Women's Mentoring Network matches women
psychiatrists based on field, interests, and geographical region.
Network members are provided with mentoring resources and participate
in a luncheon at the Annual Meeting.
Aventis 2000 Women Residents' Travel Program
This program, funded by a grant from Aventis, supports travel and related
costs for female residents to attend the Annual Meeting. The deadline has
passed for the Chicago 2000 meeting.
